Zane Johnson

Zane Johnson started learning carpentry at an early age. His father Mark owned and operated the Dallas custom architectural mill, BMCO Mill, Inc. As a young boy he would soon spend summers cleaning up the shop and catching lumber coming off one of the various planers or rip saws. At 15, Zane started making deliveries throughout the metroplex and began tuning his skills in building and assembling doors and cabinets, along with learning how to operate the machinery throughout the mill. He graduated from Highland Park HS and went on to earn a BSBA in Small Business Management and entrepreneurship at the University of Arkansas.  Upon graduating, he returned to the construction world when he started with a small spec home builder in the NW Arkansas area. Shortly afterward, his appetite for larger, more challenging projects led him back to Dallas where he started running trim for Megaco, Inc. Over the next 5 years, he immersed himself in Megaco’s projects, learning every aspect of what it takes to provide an exceptional product. In 2010, he was afforded the opportunity to act as superintendent for the ‘shell to finish out’ of a luxury apartment within the Ritz Carlton here in Dallas. Since then, he has become an integral part of the day-to-day operations of Megaco’s projects, each of which is unique in its own way.

Mark Johnson

Mark Johnson began his carpentry training in the high-end custom millwork business at his father’s millwork manufacturing plant as a teenager in Tyler, Texas. After a few years, he ventured out on his own to form HMI Construction and became a well-respected home builder. In the mid-1980s, Mark purchased BMCO Millwork Mfg. in Dallas, Texas and gained immediate recognition for his quality craftsmanship while working with well-known architects and builders in the Park Cities area. In 1998, Mark returned to the home building sector and MEGACO Inc. was formed. Since then, the company has completed exceptional projects within the Dallas area, several ranch projects in West Texas, and one beautiful alpine retreat within the Vail Valley. In 2005, his son, Zane Johnson, joined the company and has been instrumental in its continued success.  As their list of architecturally significant homes continues to grow, Mark and Zane prefer to limit their projects so they can fully provide the personal attention and customized detail that each of their clients deserves. MEGACO values its continued relationship with each of their clients, having provided them with a unique piece of architecture that is their home!
